1. The Service
DecodeLetter (“we,” “us,” the “Service”) provides tools to translate, summarize, and clarify institutional letters — including insurance denials, medical bills, benefits notices, and collections letters. The Service is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, or insurance counsel.
2. Not a law firm or licensed professional
DecodeLetter is not a law firm, medical provider, insurance company, or licensed professional in any regulated field. No attorney–client relationship, doctor–patient relationship, or professional relationship of any kind is created by your use of the Service.
3. AI-generated outputs and your responsibilities
Outputs are generated by automated natural language processing on the documents you provide. They may contain errors, ambiguities, or incomplete interpretations. Before relying on any output, you must:
- Review all outputs independently and in their full context.
- Verify outputs against the original, authoritative documents you uploaded.
- Consult with qualified healthcare providers regarding medical questions.
- Consult with licensed attorneys regarding legal questions or regulatory compliance.
- Not rely solely on DecodeLetter outputs for decisions that could affect your health, legal rights, or financial interests.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and only with documents you have the right to upload. You will not upload documents containing other people's protected information without authorization. You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the operation of the Service.
5. Payments and refunds
DecodeLetter offers per-letter and subscription pricing. One-time payments are non-refundable once a decode and response have been generated. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and remain active through the end of the current billing period. If our output materially fails (for example, we cannot extract a usable decode from your upload), contact us and we will refund the affected charge.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DecodeLetter shall not be liable for any damages arising from reliance on outputs, including but not limited to medical, legal, or financial harm. This limitation applies even if DecodeLetter has been advised of the possibility of such damages. By using DecodeLetter, you expressly assume all risks associated with its use and agree that you will not hold DecodeLetter liable for any outcomes related to your decisions based on the Service.
7. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of the documents you upload and the outputs we generate for you. You grant us a limited license to process those documents and outputs solely for the purpose of providing the Service and improving its accuracy where you have explicitly opted in.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of any associated data.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above will be updated accordingly, and material changes will be highlighted on the home page for at least 30 days.
